During the Junior and Senior years, students will begin
to research scholarship information.
Scholarships are granted for a variety of reasons, not just on the
basis of grades. In the guidance
office we have a list of
scholarships available. The internet is a wonderful resource for those looking
to do a scholarship search. Such
websites as Fastweb.com, provide a
free scholarship search service. Most scholarship information begins to filter into the
guidance office around January 1st and continues throughout the
spring. Financial aid information is also available at this time. The FAFSA
is not to be sent until January 1st of each year, however, you
may use the online version to begin filling it out for practice and as an
estimate. YES!! Many
students find that they are eligible for more money than they had initially
thought. Sometimes it is a
difference between going to a student’s first choice and 2nd
choice college. If you never apply,
you will never get the money! Scholarships: Are they worth the time and effort?

BEWARE! Not all scholarship matching services and scholarship
providers are out to help students. How can you tell a legitimate program
