After you have filled out this questionnaire, you may take your answers and those of your child’s to one of the following college search websites.  Once you have submitted your information, the search engine will match your college characteristics and needs to colleges and universities.  A list of many different colleges will appear giving you and your son/daughter a great point to start your college exploration together.

Tasks to complete during the Junior Year

 

š     Continue the college search with your son or daughter

š     Meet with your guidance counselor to discuss plans for after high school

š     Remind your child to take the PSAT (October)

š     Make sure your son or daughter registers for the SAT and/or ACT (January) to take in the Spring

š     Visit colleges of interest with your child

š     Help your child organize all of the college information

š     Develop a list of your own questions for guidance counselors, college admissions counselors and financial aid counselors

š     Attend college fairs in the area as a family

 

Remember the goal is to have a list of about ten colleges that meet most or all of the requirements you and your child have discussed by the end of the Junior Year.
