FOR TEACHERS
PLANETARIUM PROGRAMS
The Space Theater at Southern Cayuga Planetarium is the ideal setting
for an astronomy experience. The dome fills with stars, sun, moon, and
planets as orientation to the night sky begins. The heavens move through
hours, days, and months to show Solar System motion. Constellations take shape
and their myths serve to entertain and instruct. This is not just the night sky but history
of science and a lesson in ancient civilizations and language. Theater-size projected
images
and animations enhance the star show explaining the Solar System, our galaxy, and
the cosmos. A typical one-hour show starts with the stars-on-the-dome followed by feature presentations.
