SOUTHERN CAYUGA
PLANETARIUM &
OBSERVATORY
The Space Theater at Southern Cayuga Planetarium is the ideal setting for astronomy education. A Spitz star projector fills the dome with stars, sun, moon, and planets set to any date or time at any location on earth. It explains daily and monthly sky movements, precession, and celestial coordinates. Other projectors expand digital content across the dome and present multiple image slide shows. Programs may include animations, PowerPoint shows and video. Typically lessons start with the sky-on-the-dome, followed by features or interactive animations.
