We are pleased to share an update on the ongoing search for the next Superintendent of Schools for the Southern Cayuga Central School District. This important work is moving forward with care and intention as the Board reviews a strong group of applicants who bring a range of experience, leadership strengths, and perspectives well suited to our district.

Selecting our next Superintendent marks an important transition for Southern Cayuga. This role is central to setting direction, building trust, and ensuring that every student is supported, engaged, and prepared for future success. The Board remains focused on identifying a leader who respects the district’s history and values while also guiding Southern Cayuga forward with clear vision, stability, and thoughtful innovation.

Community input has been a vital part of this process. We sincerely thank the parents, staff, students, and community members who took the time to participate in surveys offered throughout the process. Your feedback offered meaningful insight into what matters most to our school community

As the search advances and finalist candidates are identified, the Board of Education is pleased to invite interested community members to be considered for service on a Community Stakeholder Committee. This committee will have the opportunity to review candidates and provide feedback to the Board to support its decision-making.

The form includes the dates and times required for participation; availability for all scheduled sessions is necessary in order to serve. The deadline to submit the form is Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

This registration opportunity is intended for parents and community members who are not district employees. Our search consultant will also collaborate with district leadership to establish additional stakeholder groups that reflect the full range of voices within our schools. Students, faculty, and staff who are interested in participating will receive additional information through building principals, association leadership, or district administration in the coming weeks.

We appreciate the continued interest, patience, and engagement of the Southern Cayuga community throughout this process.
